- 6-8 yrs exp Individuals with experience designing and developing content for PE websites that includes, but is not limited to the development of graphics, icons and other visual content. Has experience in daily content publishing and writing for multiple audiences; proficiency in the use of content management software, such as Microsoft SharePoint, Ektron, Drupal, Convio, and Kintera.
General
- Supports all digital functions of communications team including updating webpages; build out pages as required for press events and releases and agency programs; add banners, graphics, upload all types of files on Sitecore page and Sharepoint Designer. Edit CTDOL website on HTML, edit pages on Sitecore, become conversant in Sitecore v.2 that will be the final CTDOL website platform. Assist in website migration efforts to ensure CTDOL units have digital communications platform for customers and partners.
Technical skills:
- HTML 4 and 5, SharePoint Designer, JavaScript, Microsoft Suite, Adobe, PDFs
- Design and graphics software for digital platforms
- Sitecore fluent
- Helpful to have background in logical website design—organizing and linking content, etc.
Duties:
- Assist with day to day digital communications needs—review press releases, graphics, other documents for digital platform compliance
- Assist with content updates to agency internet and intranet websites to facilitate internal and external communications
- Assist in archiving outdated program content, including HTML and embedded images, stylesheets, or JavaScript source
- Review agency website to ensure that look and user browsing experience is consistent with overall messaging and tone
- Test site links to validate both internal and external URLs and report possible error codes
- Cross-reference marketing materials and web content to ensure listed links are congruent and functional
- Work with agency subject matter experts to review website content to remove or revise outdated or erroneous information
- Prepare charts, design graphics, and size photos for use across digital platforms—video, social media, and print materials
- Proofread website content and make necessary edits to improve readability, comport with USDOL plain language requirements, and improve user experience
- Assist as needed with managing social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms
- Pull analytics and information for web and social media platform traffic for communications and legislative reports.
