The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology is seeking candidates for the temporary contractor position of GA SHINES Configuration Analyst/Server Administrator in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Configuration Analyst/Server Administrator works with state and vendor technology teams, at various levels, and strategic third-party partners to provide a comprehensive and effective maintenance program in support of Child Welfare operations. The position is accountable to the Georgia SHINES Operations Manager.
- Develop and maintain automated deployment systems
- Manage production support issues and see through to resolution
- Responsible for the design, implementation, troubleshoot and support of core Windows and Linux infrastructures
- Work with the Technical Team and business customer to create deployment work plans, schedules and troubleshoot application issues
- Initial assess, implement and document of infrastructure changes
- Communicate and build rapport with team members, management, stakeholders, infrastructure teams and interface groups using a variety of techniques, from initiation to close
- Work with the management to develop deployment specifications and configurations
- Work with teams like Network and Security to ensure the server environment is secure and performing satisfactorily
- Analyze and troubleshoot deployment issues in a timely manner
- Act as primary customer contact for deployment related inquiries and issues
- Support for the Windows Server and Virtualization Infrastructure, the audit and compliance and server hardware
- Performs other technical tasks as assigned
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment using WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or similar class server systems.
- Background in managing Middle tier software on Linux and UNIX platforms
- Experience in continuous integration tools such as CruiseControl, Jenkins etc.,
- Experience with AWS cloud technology
- Strong scripting and deployment automation background in a continuous integration environment
- Experience with middle tier software on Linux and UNIX platforms
- Cross-platform experience and the expertise to identify and resolve integration issues
- Proficiency in specifying and implementing testing and production environment infrastructure
- Demonstrated deployment experience in hosted environments
- Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment using WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere
- An Engineering mindset – focused on designing, implementing and improving processes and technology
- Strong Windows and Linux skills, to be successful, you must be very comfortable on a Linux server and able to easily navigate around
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies and apply new skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in configuration management and support
- Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of experience in configuration management and support
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:
- Experience working in county, state, or federal government
- Previous experience with child welfare systems, projects, and business processes
- Experience with AWS infrastructure
