Requirements: Five years of experience managing project schedules, ideally for large and complex technical projects. Project Management Professional certification preferred. Advanced scheduling and reporting skills with Microsoft Project required.
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain schedules for the Modernization Program and related projects. You will work with the project team, vendors, technical and operational staff to develop the work breakdown structure, identify tasks, durations, and assigned resources, and integrate sub-schedules into the Modernization master project schedule. This includes monitoring and identifying dependencies with other agency or enterprise projects. Many of these projects involve technical components and it is critical that the individual in this position have sufficient information technology experience to advise and coordinate the technical activities between these projects.
You will work with task owners to obtain progress on tasks, update and maintain the schedule, and develop schedule performance reports. You will analyze critical path and constraints to determine the effects of changes to the schedule, identify problem areas, and collaborate to recommend solutions and workarounds. You will develop and distribute short interval schedules to guide weekly work. You will collaborate with the team to support effective change management, budget management, and quality management. You will assist in the identification of schedule-related risks and issues and work with the Quality and Risk Analyst to evaluate impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
