Data Modernization Initiative Leader
Under administrative direction, responsible for the administration, direction and organization of a complex, multifunctional program with a statewide impact. Plan, organize and direct program functions and ensure activities are carried out efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines through the work of assigned teams. Collaborates with Public Health leaders, vendors and the CDC to perform administrative functions required to support program operations including budget tracking and maintenance, program planning, developing program strategies, problem resolution, and monitoring of program progress. Performs related work as assigned.
Leads the coordination, planning, initiation, and completion of strategic and long-term projects with a significant impact on the agency’s core functions. This is accomplished by directing project team members comprised of subject matter experts from various disciplines, such as information technology, Informatics, Epidemiology and other Public Health programs. Identifies potential risks and obstacles to project completion and develops strategies to minimize or avoid them. Serves as the point of contact for staff, consultants, vendors, and contractors with questions relating to the project and coordinates communication and reports for leaders, project team members, and stakeholders. Plans, assigns, and/or supervises the work of others.
Education and Skills
Master’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, informatics, technology or related field.
Ability to: manage large program activities from inception to successful implementation; oversee program related plans, goals, and objectives, exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions; analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues; recognize changes and determine their impact; demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills; identify risks and gaps; prepare reports; communicate effectively with agency staff of various levels, public officials, and the CDC. Work with stakeholders with competing interests and resolve conflicts, confrontations, and disagreements in a positive and constructive manner; and plan, assign and/or supervise the work of others.
